All the world may be a stage, but do only the goodlooking actors make it to the final act...??

Everyone wants to look good, whatever their age, gender or personality. Okay, for some it's a requirement of their jobs like the showbiz people- VJs, actors, models and so on and the others in the business service industry like airlines, hotels and banks etc. But what about the rest of us? THere is obviously something about good looks that gives people an advantage? So why is looking good such a big deal? Here is how it goes:

We are programmed to react better to goodlooking people. And it starts right from when a baby is born. We respond enthusiastically to a cute baby and not towards a not so cute child. People who look good are liked more. And so because you want to be liked, you want to look good.

When you think "good-looking", who comes to your mind? Brad Pitt? Aishwarya? Hrithik Roshan? Or any other young style icon? Probably, how many of you thought of Sean Connery or Andrey Hepburn or someone of that age group? Few, if any. There is no escaping it. In our minds, goodlooks are equated with being young and fit. Beautiful= young. Which is why beautiful equals desirable. Watch a good looking guy/ girl walk into a room- everyone notices. And when an ordinary looker walks in, well, nothing. Since goodlookers get noticed easily others want to be seen with them as it brings them into attention. When choice is between two equally matched people, usually the betterlooking one is chosen.

You may think not, but there are actually some disadvantages to being good looking!
  • Look good and people automatically assume that you are empty in other departments.

  • If you are good looking, no one gives you credit for your achievements- they immediately attribute them to your looks. You have to work twice as hard to prove yourself.

  • Good lookers are never quite sure if they are being liked for themselves or for the way they look!

So if you are of the category that are highly pleasing to the eye, ear or mind- thanks to the God and your genes. And if not- never mind, after all if you can make a difference- you are the one who counts!!!

Stay Good.

game of love--

Tell me
Just what you want me to be
One kiss
And boom you're the only one for me
So please tell me why
Don't you come around no more?
'Cause right now I'm cryin'
Outside the door
Of the candy store

It just takes a little bit of this, a little bit of that
It started with a kiss now we're up to bat
A little bit of laughs, a little bit of pain
I'm tellin' you my love, its all in the game of love--

Whatever you make it to be
Sunshine
Instead of this cold, lonely sea
So please baby try
And you'll live for what I'm good for
It ain't sayin' goodbye
Its knockin' down the door
Of your candy store

Beauty is one of the most overrated virtues...What captivates me is not the outward beauty of the beholder but beauty of his/her soul - brought out in his/her doings/thinking/outlook/behaviour...

@Roopak-
>Beauty is one of the most overrated virtues...agreed but it is also the one things that inspires people to create masterpieces...in fact it wouldn't be wrong to say Beauty~Excellence

>What captivates me is not the outward beauty of the beholder but beauty of his/her soul - brought out in his/her doings/thinking/outlook/behaviour..At the end of the day-it is BEAUTY...it's just that the outer one comes accross prior to the inward one. It is a gatepass- the others may have to buy a ticket! :)

Having both is a bonus :D...but an empty beautiful shell will only survive for a lil while before breaking into nothingness....
